Don Goodman moved to Roker Park in December 1991 for a club record fee
of £900,000 to replace crowd favourite Marco Gabbiadini, who had moved
to Crystal Palace for £1,800,000. Goodman made an immediate impact
with his new club when grabbing a hat-trick against Millwall and went on
to score 11 league goals in his first season on Wearside. The goals
flowed at a steady rate during the remainder of Don's Sunderland career
before a £1,100,000 switch to Wolves in December 1994. He is pictured
above during the 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough on 11/9/1994.
