Milton NUNEZ - Sunderland FC - League appearances for The Black Cats.

Milton Nunez joined Sunderland in a £1.6m move from Nacional Montevideo in March 2000 via

a loan spell at PAOK Salonika. The deal was nothing short of a disaster for the Black Cats and the player

moved on to Nacional in the summer of 2001 having made just one first team appearance.

The photo above shows Nunez during his solitary first team outing - a substitute appearance in a

2-1 win against Wimbledon in April 2000.

He was nicknamed Tyson due to his resemblance to former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.

Alas he packed no punch at Sunderland (sorry!)

Transferred from Nacional Montevideo, Uruguay on 23/3/2000

for £1.6m.
