Peter Davenport arrived at Roker Park with a fine footballing pedigree,
having previously played for Nottingham Forest
and Manchester United as well as representing his country.
He spent three seasons on Wearside, scoring
18 goals in 120 appearances, before moving on to Scottish side Airdrieonians.
