Ernie Els won in a play-off

(The picture above shows Thomas during the final day of the 2002 Open Championship.
He finished all square with Ernie Els,Stuart Appleby & Steve Elkington at the end of
the 72 holes and was still level with Els after the four hole play-off. Sadly for Thomas
he bogeyed the first sudden death hole and Els took the trophy by making par.)
