| The pictures above show Padraig Harrington at
the 2008 Open at Royal Birkdale. Harrington played
some superb golf to win the claret jug and then in
the very next major he produced another stunning
performance to win the US PGA Championship at
Oakland Hills,the results of which can be seen below. The Irishman had not started the tournament
in particularly auspicious fashion - rounds of 71
and 74 leaving him at 5 over par - but two superb
closing 66s were enough to give him a two stroke
victory from old foe Sergio Garcia and Ben Curtis.
In doing so Padraig became the first player - aside
from the great Tiger Woods - to win successive
majors since Nick Price in 1994. |
