At the age of 23 years 3 months Rory McIlroy became the youngest ever winner of the PGA together
with a record winning margin of eight strokes. It was a record for the Championship, beating Jack Nicklaus's
1980 seven stroke margin. All this inspite of a second round of 75, which included five bogeys !
However, round three (7 birdies) and round 4 (6 birdies) carried him way ahead of the field and into
the history books. Amazingly at the three other majors he could do not better than 40th. (Masters).
