After making his international debut
against Fiji in July 1996, Johan then went
on to play a further three games in a month
but did not then feature for South Africa
for 5 years, missing no less than sixty games
in that period. He returned for 4 matches
in 2001 but then totally disappeared off
the radar again, missing a further 63
internationals before making his 'third
coming' in 2006. He is pictured above
