Starting on Tuesday evening at 6.08 pm they finished on Thursday at 4.48 pm - the final set was a mammouth 70-68. The final score was 6-4,3-6,6-7,7-6,70-68 a total of 183 games. John lost his 2nd round match 0-6,3-6,2-6 in a lot less time. In spite of playing just two matches he hit 113 aces which was more than any other player at The Championships that year. It was reported that "Forty bottles of water, 12 energy bars, seven racquets and three bananas"(D.Telegraph) were consumed during the match.
